Composite decking requires just a few minutes maintenance
Composite decking can make all the difference to your property; just make sure you're prepared for your neighbours' look of envy. Install and wait for the inevitable.
Prior to the introduction of composite decking into the consciousness of landscape gardeners and property owners across the UK it is difficult to fathom precisely what homeowners used to do. One real plus is the lack of staining or painting when compared to the prep necessary for natural wood. However, do not mistakenly believe the lack of prep is to the disadvantage of the product's longevity, as composite decking is guaranteed against splintering, rotting and damage from termites. And don't think the product is more restrictive than wood either as there are a wide variety of colours and styles available.
Well, that was a comprehensive introduction for you so you can hit the ground running. Hold your horses, didn't I mention a reduction in maintenance? Quite right, it's true. So how should you look after your composite decking?

As an aside, my absolute favourite barbecued food is the burger. Watch out though; they're famously tricky to cook without cremating. Right, that's neither here nor there. When you're cooking all those delicious meat products, make sure you put a guard mat under the grill. This will render obsolete the imminent danger present with a barbecue. No damage from the feet, no burns from the burning charcoal and none of that grease dripping from the animal you're cooking.
· The first rule of composite decking - drainage!
A lot like Fight Club there are particular rules regarding composite decking. Calm down, you are allowed to talk about composite decking which is a real relief as this article could cause me some serious grief. What you are not allowed to do is forget to implement satisfactory drainage. Mould and mildew make a home in standing water as well as creepy crawlies. Proper drainage is essential. Splash guards and downspouts should be headed away from decking toward a far away region of your garden. That's not asking too much is it?
· Give composite decking a wash down
You don't want your neighbours to glance over into your back garden and turn their noses up at your tatty composite decking. The swines!
